As most of you know, the deadliest fire in California history, the Camp Fire, struck the community of Paradise and surrounding towns just about 30 miles from the track in the Sierra Nevada foothills.  Most of the residents of the town of Paradise will be living in shelters through the holidays.  At the time of this writing, more than 80 people were confirmed dead and more than 870 are still missing.  All of the homes in Paradise were destroyed and people have pretty much lost everything.

As we celebrate another year of competition at this event, a number of racers have indicated their interest in helping the victims of this tragedy.  Proposals range from a dollar a lap to throwing a $100 in a bucket in the drivers’ lounge.   Anything we give helps and sends a great message about our racing community to the people who let us run our cars in their backyard.

We will have a pledge sheet in the drivers’ lounge as well a secure donation spot for cash and checks.  NASA will handle the distribution of the funds.  If you have any questions or ideas about how we can make this a successful donation effort please contact Ethan Stone at 805-451-8495 or [email protected].  Note- checks should be made out to “NASA.”
